Zhenya Leverett

Zhenya Leverett is teaching rapier & dagger course at The British National Stage Combat Workshop

Zhenya received classical training as an actress in Russia and worked in theatre and film in Moscow before moving to the UK in 2015.  In London, she qualified as a teacher with The British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat and now teaches sword fighting and unarmed combat at RADA, Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, YATI and IDFight. As a fight coordinator, she has choreographed fights for a number of theatre productions, including Cinderella (English Touring Opera), La Liberazione Di Ruggiero (Longborough Festival Opera), Ben Hur (Abbey Theatre), Prize Fights (RADA), Light Shining in Buckinghamshire (Young Actors Theatre Islington). Zhenya is an action performer and is best known for her role in the BAFTA-winning TV series Killing Eve (S1), where she played prisoner Agniya trading punches with Jodie Comer.  She is an Equity member and works professionally as an actress at the Xameleon Theatre in London.

Jonathan Leverett

Jonathan Leverett - fight choreography performance

Jonathan is a Certified Master Teacher and Examiner with The British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat, an Honorary Fight Master with Fight Directors Canada, and holds the Certificate of Excellence from the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) Fight Director Program. With more than 20 years’ experience, he has taught and examined students at prestigious drama schools in London, including The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London College of Music, The American School in London. As a fight director, Jonathan has choreographed fight scenes for over a hundred theatre productions, including the Shakespeare Society’s production of Hamlet in Elsinore, Denmark (where the original Hamlet is set). He was a stunt performer on the award-winning TV series Vikings (S6) and was the stunt double for Sir Ian McKellen in the film version of Hamlet at Theatre Royal Windsor. Recent fight directing work includes Shakespeare in Love, dir. by Robert Styles (RCSSD) and Deathtrap, dir. by Tam Williams (Mill at Sonning).
